Marakele Nation Park and Pilansberg Game Reserve

Only 5 minutes away, Marakele National Park is a Big 5 Reserve. This Park is well known for its scenic beauty as well as having an abundance of plains game. It also boasts the largest colony of Cape Vultures world wide. You can self drive in the park, or take the option of Marula Cottage's own qualified and registered guide, as well as book night drives through the park. 

Pilansberg, an hours drive, set in an extinct volcano crater offers wonderful game viewing opportunities. It is also a big 5 reserve, that while is not as dramaticly scenic as Marakele, more than makes up for it with great elephant and big cat sightings. Options are self drive or make use of Marula Cottages qualified and registered guides.

Thabazimbi has a quaint golf course set in the Ben Alberts Game reserve, play a round accompanied to the song of birds.

Zebula Country Club has a championship 18 hole course, spa and sauna. The golf course is a challanging  par 72 course and you can expect to see zebra,wildebeest and eland on the fairways.
